To create my site, I chose to use WordPress.com, taking advantage of the WPCredits program. I decided to go with this option because it makes hosting much easier and allows me to get the website up and running quickly without having to deal with manual server configuration.
During setup, the biggest challenge was getting used to the Site Editor and adjusting the blocks to structure the main pages and menus. At first, it took some trial and error to get the layout to look clean and well-organized.
The most interesting thing I learned about WordPress during the process was how to use the category system and site taxonomy. It became clear to me how the “WordPress Credits” category helps organize the blog so that my mentor and the community can easily keep track of my posts.
